Do you love to perform? With the beauty and pageantry of synchronized dancing, the San Tan Color Guard gives you the opportunity to display your performance skills.
Even if you have no prior experience, you will learn to perform beautiful routines which will be performed at school and sporting events. The Junior High and High School Color Guard will also participate in a state wide competition against teams from around Arizona.
Robyn Kotte is in her 25th year of teaching Color Guard. Robyn grew up in Virginia where she attended Virginia Commonwealth University as a Dance and Choreography major. While in school, she marched with the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps and Magic of Orlando Drum and Bugle Corps. From 1994 to 2011 she taught Color Guard programs throughout Virginia, North Carolina and Ohio. She also adjudicated with the Atlantic Indoor Association as a movement and equipment judge. In 2011, shortly after receiving her Masters in Elementary Education, Robyn moved to Arizona to pursue her teaching career.
Currently, Robyn is the Director of Special Education at Mesa Arts Academy. While living in Arizona she has worked with many colorguard programs, such as Williams Field HS, Apache Junction HS, Deer Valley HS, and is the current director of winter ensembles at the Grant Woods Branch of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the East Valley. She lives in San Tan Valley with her loving family Jason, Aleyna and Kalien.
