My Bio

My name is Matthew Burwell and I am a first year teacher and head athletic trainer at San Tan Charter School. This is my 3rd year as a certified athletic trainer and my first year teaching. Prior to this I was the assistant athletic trainer at both Highland high school and Mesquite high school. 

I am originally from North Carolina and I studied at Wingate University there where I got a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. After that I moved to Arizona to work and get my Master of Science in Athletic Training from A.T. Still University. 

I love being an athletic trainer and helping athletes compete at the highest level that they can. I am also excited to teach students about my profession and I hope that they will enjoy it as much as I do.
